Novemeber 26, 2024 - Numbers and Dates in Japanese

*** Notice! Because you are all very hard working students, and the weather is getting dark and cold, the last 5 classes, November 26-January 7 can be done at home online. You do not have to come to class! I will post the assignment on Monday, and you can finish it anytime before Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. If it is finished by then, you will be counted as present and get full points for the completed work. Any questions? email me or ask me now!***

Friday, November 29th is written in all number as 11/29. in Japanese you can call itいい肉の日.

I have always found in fascinating that Japanese can bend word in such a way. English has nothing like this so I find it very unusual, but very cool.

What are your favorite numbered and named days on the calendar? Please choose one and explain what it stands for in Japanese and what it means in English.
