November 19, 2024 - Black Friday

  *** Notice! Because you are all very hard working students, and the weather is getting dark and cold, the last 5 classes, November 26-January 7  can be done at home online. You do not have to come to class! I will post the assignment on Wednesday, and you can finish it anytime before Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. If it is finished by then, you will be counted as present and get full points for the completed work. Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving. This year it was November 28, in America. It is a day that is said to start the Christmas shopping season. It is NOT a holiday, but a day that many stores have very good sales and bargains. Sometimes crowds of people come and can fight over TVs or clothes.

These days with online shopping, Black Friday has expanded to the complete end of November and beginning of December! It seems like in Japan, Black Friday is about 2 weeks long! 

Please write your opinions on  Black Friday, including any events that happened in 2023 or will happen in 2024.

October 29, 2024 - Mid Term Long Form Assignment.

     Let's talk about games! I have been playing games all my life, ever since I got a home version of Pac-Man for Christmas all the way back in 1982!! I don't play games very often, and honestly I only play old-style games. Ones that are short and simple to learn. I don't have infinite time (like you) to play games all weekend! Plus I like what I grew up with, so I often just replay those games over and over. October 22, 2024 - Halloween is Coming!!

 The assignment for October 29th is very long, because it is like a test. Please finish the assignment online by October 29th at 5:30 p.m. Earlier is ok!      You do not have to come to class on October 29!   10月29日の課題はテストのようなものなのでとても長いです。 10 月 29 日の午後 5 時 30 分までにオンラインで課題を完了してください。 早めでも大丈夫ですよ！   Halloween is next week! Yay! So lets learn about Halloween! Please research events in Japan happening between now and Oct 31. Please look for things that are announced on social media. For example, twitter, facebook, instagram, etc. YouTube videos about Halloween are NOT OK this time.  After you find some event, write your opinion in 50 words or more. Is it fun? Would you attend? October 8, 2024 - Getting Sick!!

     Getting sick!   Yes, it is that time of year! People start getting cold and flu! Please search online in English for sites and blogs that give helpful advice and tips for how to keep healthy in the fall and wintertime (no videos)     Than write in 50 words or more your opinion about the links you found. Please include website links. Please do not talk about corona, just general health. My example: Oh no! cold and flu season is almost here! But do not worry, I have some secrets that can help you. I am going to eat lots of vegetables, because they fight off illness. I will also get lots of  Vitamin D, from being out in the sunshine, and from pills, this helps keep you awake and your mind clear. I will also wash my hands a lot to kill germs and avoid spreading them. How did I learn all this? From a great site online!
