November 12, 2024 - Alternative Media

  *** Notice! Because you are all very hard working students, and the weather is getting dark and cold, the last 5 classes, November 26-January 7 can be done at home online. You do not have to come to class!  The most popular websites, like Twitter, YouTube and Facebook have hundreds of million of users. You probably use at least one of these or maybe all three! But they are not the only websites out there.

Actually, there are many alternative sites that give a similar experience. Some people refuse to use YouTube, Twitter and Facebook because of security, disagreements, or they have no interest in using them.

One site I enjoy that is like YouTube, but different is Odysee.

There are lots of videos there that YouTube has banned because they disagree with the topic. Also the home page of YouTube always shows the most popular videos, maybe not the most interesting one. So many people prefer to avoid that and go somewhere else to see what they like.

What is an alternative media site that you use? It could be a video site,  blogging site or social network site. It MUST be something that allows the user to create, not just read/watch.
