December 3, 2024 - What is News to You?

Novemeber 26, 2024 - Numbers and Dates in Japanese

I have always found in fascinating that Japanese can bend word in such a way. English has nothing like this so I find it very unusual, but very cool. What are your favorite numbered and named days on the calendar? Please choose one and explain what it stands for in Japanese and what it means in English.

It is NOT a holiday, but a day that many stores have very good sales and bargains. Sometimes crowds of people come and can fight over TVs or clothes. These days with online shopping, Black Friday has expanded to the complete end of November and beginning of December! November 5, 2024 - The Changing Colors of Fall!

  November is my favorite time of year in Japan. It is no longer very hot, and it is also not yet cold. The days are still sunny but the leaves are changing!
